shifting Sign In

i am new here.i have 2000 gmc 4x4 and will not shift from 2wheel drive to 4wheel drive on the fly. it is pushbutton style.been to tranny shop and had front diff. and transfer case checked.still have same problem.anyone with info about this would be greatly apprec.

Are all the tires the same size? These need to have all 4 tires the exact size.

all tires are the same size.they are about 3 months old.but thanks for taking the time to investigate it.

Is the solenoid getting any current so it can work? Also there is a vacuum switch on the transmission that has a metal ball in it as a check valve. This can hang and cause your problem. That should have been checked by now though.

snker 32 hear again.and yes that has all been checked. it will go in 4 wheel drive if i use reverse but will not shift on the fly. used to work fine.it really has me puzzled.i had a very good transmission guy tear it all apart and it has him puzzled too at a very pricy bill.anyhow thanks again.well appreciated
