1977 Ford F-700 engine removal problem Sign In

I have a 1977 Ford F-700 grain truck with a blown engine. We are trying to take the engine out to do an overhaul, but we cant seem to get the engine out. We unbolted everything, along with the mounts and unbolted the engine from the bell housing. Had no luck would barely come apart. So we unbolted the bell housing from the transmission, and now we can spread the engine apart a bit but its binding and now when we pull on the engine the transmission wants to come with it. Cant seem to get the engine to split apart. Is there something we are missing? Something we shouldnt have done? Its getting close to harvest and would like some help if anyone out there knows a few tricks.
Thanks

I think you'd better stick to farming. How do you expect to rebuild an engine properly if you don't know how to remove it?

I suspect this is a manual trans and should have been removed first.
