With all due respect stop adjusting things you know nothing about as you are just making a possible fix that much harder,

OK, I'll bite. What's an EFI carb screw since the 2 words are a conflict in themselves.

Probably means the air bypass screw for setting min air rate.

Check engine light on?

EFI carb screws have a very delicate procedure to adjust and can cause the issue you have if not done properly.

1. muffler belt must be at proper tension and timed to 13 degrees advance at 60 degrees celcius

2. blinker fluid reservoir must be within spec and quality fluid used(I prefer Dr. Snake brand for my truck)

3. with the engine at idle, use a left handed metric crescent wrench and tighten screw to 15 foot-meters

4. back off 1/4 turn

5. if this procedure is followed exactly you will get 50mpg and the truck will never break down again.
