I have a 1992 F150 2 wheel drive with the 5.0 302 motor in it. I just changed the belt tensioner thinking that was where my loud squealing noise was coming from, but it still squeals loudly even with the new tensioner. Can any help me out on where to start. The noise sounds like it is coming from the tensioner and the alternator location. Thank you, Wes

anytime you have a belt squeal, you need to check everything on it. First, when you take off the belt note how much tension is on it. Then check every single pulley one by one for a gritty feeling or play when turning. Your idler could be bad, or one of the engine driven accessories. Lastly, whenever you change a tensioner put a new belt on too. If you've run long enough to wear a tensioner out you've certainly not done your belt any favors. Often a component failure will slightly damage the belt and cause it to be noisy when all other parts are good
