I have a 95 GMC Sierra 5.7 that when accelerating it will pop back through the exhaust and throttle body at low to mid throttle but after that it picks up and goes on. Also it dies at times and this morning it died and wouldn't start for about 30 min, put gas in TBI but wouldn't start immediately. It did start after a few min. after gas was poured in. Drove home about 15 miles with usual hiccups. No engine codes I did replace the ignition module a few months ago and replace EGR valve a few weeks ago.

'95 Model year so OBDI - codes not helpful just yet. Stop "pouring gas" down a throttle body and use something flammable or real starting fluid for test. Put air intake parts back on before trying.
It worked so it lacks fuel "delivery" now next I'd listen for fuel pump report sounds and when without starting. Same time check fuel pressure AND that it holds.
If just too low but holds fuel pump not capable but slow down. Check that wiring to it is good at connections up right to it. Also check for power when it should be pumping with a helper just turn key to run not start it primes for a couple seconds, catch right then.
Chances are you need a new fuel pump but don't just toss parts test and check as what you are doing both wastes $$ and ads the chance new something isn't installed right, wrong one or doesn't work new.

Test away or get it diagnosed only if you can then decide if you want or are able to do the job. Tank will have to come out, fuel neck OK for reuse and lower fuel so you can manage it if it gets to that,

I found my problem, I replaced the plugs and wires which took care of the backfiring. I also replace the ignition control module to take care of the dying issue.
