I have a 2007 dodge 3500 with the 6.7 Cummins motor with 110,000 miles. The air conditioner will blow air, but its not cold, I had the freon checked and they tell me its full. Could it be anything other than a bad compresser?

Yes it could be a lot of things......too many to list.. You have to start at square one with a problem like this and get some basic info. ambient temp, air temp @ the condenser, high & low pressure readings @ idle & 2000, vent temps from both speeds.....Thats to start off with.... Does it ever get cold? Cruising down the highway? Early in the morning? or just warm all the time? Also to eliminate a blend door problem, pinch off the heater hoses & see if that drops the vent temps..... Was there any recent service or work done to the truck or this just started out of the blue?

Its warm all the time. The truck hasnt had any service work in a while. I took it into a midas shop when it started, but I got the feeling all he wanted was to sell me a new compresser. It seems like if it was the compresser there wouldnt be any air coming out at all or it would have blown the belt off. I dont know...

Well the compressor could be the problem but not the only thing. Thats why we need the info I mentioned earlier to help determine if in fact it is a compressor problem or something else is going on.

No matter what fails in an air conditioning system, the result is always the same............ warm air Just go get a second opinion. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Nobody can tell you the system is "Full" without emptying it and refilling - PERIOD! T
