Re: lack of power Sign In

Is it downshifting? Does using plain "D" instead of the overdrive "D" selection make any difference?

Re: lack of power Sign In

It only has a single D no overdrive , it does down shift and goes smothly through all gears any other time - It does it on a modest grade not just uphill

Re: lack of power Sign In

?? Almost all automatics have a locking torque converter which feels like a fourth gear or overdrive. This probably just does it all automatically as it's rare not to lock up at certain reduced loads in high gear.

If this has full power from a stop as you expect from it but not at highway speeds it may not get the signal to downshift or unlock for more leverage (lower gear ratio) for the increased load. I can only guess so would need to know if it won't downshift at 55mph which I think it should. At over 70 most would not go to true second gear anymore as RPMs would be too high.

General loss of power would be another approach to fix,

T
