I don't know if I would have believed any of that story. It makes no sense at all. There is no way a ball joint took out a new tire in 8000 miles or that the ball joint even wore out in 8000 miles.

As HT just said "This doesn't make sense."

Notes on this: They do last longer than that big time. If true - there's some defect.

These vehicles and others have greasable parts and even common grease unless this vehicle is totally abused do better. If the same type FE and I think it is, they are a PITA to properly grease ALL the fittings - not just easy ones. I use synthetic grease which is tons more waterproof than regular and a real grease gun as you get a good feel that the grease go in the joints.

Hurry if the other 3 tires area still good to get a new one as 4X4s in particular don't like odd tires. With that work should have been a full alignment and short of some accident or wild pot hole should be fine still.

Again - these and other vehicles really benefit IMO with paying strict attention to full service every 3,000 miles. I know it's a pill but vehicles are expensive and it's worth it.

Something's wrong. What's the warranty on the tire and the ball joint?

Do you have a print out of the alignment specs....before & after and if possible get an alignment check from another machine & post that as well..........

If you do, scan the printouts & post them, that would work better than typing them out........
