2008 Chrysler Firepower

The 2008 Chrysler Firepower is an amalgamation of the Dodge Viper chassis and powerful 6.1 L V8 HEMI engine. The 2008 Chrysler Firepower was introduced for the speed lovers with an amazing 0-to-60 in mere 4.5 seconds and capable of going up to a maximum speed of 175 mph.

The Chrysler Firepower is a two-seat sports car specifically built for high speed, good acceleration, luxury and for long drives.

Similar to most of the sports car models, the Firepower has the traditional long front hood and a short tail design. The entire engine power is transmitted to the wheel through an A580 automatic 5-speed transmission. The transmission also has the feature of AutoStick Technology.

The 6.1 L V8 HEMI engine generates a whooping 425 break horse power. The engine also features Returnless Multi-Point Fuel Injection technology. The valve train is a Pushrod OHV with 2 Valves for each Cylinder. The engine generates a mammoth 316.9 kw or 425 bhp at 6200 rpm and a torque of 420 ft lbs at 4800 rpm.

This engine is the highest specific-output engine ever designed by Chrysler. This high-performance 6.1-liter HEMI engine is additionally upgraded with many redesigned components mainly forged steel crankshaft, floating-pin pistons, reinforced engine block with increased coolant flow, high-strength powdered-metal connecting rods, and an oil pan modified to reduce oil foaming.

To match the speed and power the brakes have been designed accordingly. The front wheels have Brembo Vented Discs with 4-Pot Calipers, Power Assist and are 14 inch in diameter. The rear brakes are also Brembo Vented Discs with 4-Pot Calipers, Power Assist but with 12 inch diameter. The 2008 Firepower has huge billet aluminum wheels 19 by 12 inch for the front and 20 by 12 inch for the rear wheels.

The tires are likely to be Michelin Pilot Sport 275/35 R19 in the front and 335/30 R20 in back. The 2008 Chrysler Firepower suspensions have been adopted from the Dodge Viper Suspension but modified to be softer in handling than the Viper.

The front wheels have A-Arms with Coil over Shocks design and a Stabilizer Bar. The rear has standard Multilink Arms with Coil over Shocks design and Stabilizer Bar.

The Firepower steering is the standard power steering with rack-and-pinion design having a 16.7:1 ratio.

The cars interior is luxurious and elegant. It has sports leather seats, automatic climate control and a very good audio system. The instrument panel has specially designed gauges to display all essential information.

The 2008 Chrysler Firepower's overall impression amalgamates a lot of ferociousness with a little bit of elegance and style.

The well sculptured rear adds to the elegance of the design. The Firepower's long hood neatly accommodates the powerful HEMI. The additional features such as the Center High Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL) which is embedded in the roof-mounted satellite antenna add to the elegant touches of the design.

Proper engine cooling is provided by the standard Chrysler grille. The Firepower will come with most of the features as standard accessories with options for customization and additions of extra features. It will have the initial free maintenance support and warranty as per the Chrysler's standard policy. When it hits the roads, it will be a treat to watch and drive.
