2008 Porsche Cayenne S

When motivational thinking and raw power are mixed together, you get the 2008 Porsche Cayenne S. The Cayenne S 2008 is an advanced version of the 2006 as there is no 2007 version. The Porsche Cayenne S is symbolic to the success of this small company from Germany as it glorifies the strength and the reliability of this 4-wheel-drive sport-utility vehicle.

There was a time when people wondered if the Porsche Cayenne was the kind of SUV they wanted but things and minds have changed since then. The Porsche Cayenne S is the kind of SUV, which will tempt you with its controls, smooth driving capabilities and sturdiness.

Today the Porsche Cayenne S is selling well with more than 20,000 units being manufactured every year. According to Porsche, the 2008 Cayenne S is a high-performance second generation SUV. So what is the X-factor for the SUV? The smart thing that Porsche engineers have done is that they have developed a completely new engine for the SUV. The engine now has an enlarged displacement and as compared to the past models, this one has a direct fuel injection. Due to the charge cooling effect initiated by the direct fuel injection system, it provides a high compression ratio. The result is improved horsepower as well as torque.

It has a strong V6 engine that some believe is too weak for the Porsche Cayenne S, although the company feels that this is just an entry-level offering. The current V6 engine delivers 290 horsepower while the torque at 283 pound-feet gives 43 hp and 54 lb-ft. The Porsche Cayenne S has good acceleration and can take you from 0-60-mph in about 9.5 seconds.

There are two options where transmission is concerned. You can get the Cayenne S with a Tiptronic automatic transmission or the regular six-speed manual transmission. There are two different modes in the Tiptronic automatic transmission system. The two modes are the Normal Mode and the Sport mode.

The Porsche Cayenne S has two different engine models. You can go for the V6 or the V8. The V6 has 17-inch wheels while the V8 has 18-inch wheels. Of course you can always customize the wheels to include a 19, 20 or 21-inch wheels. The interiors and the body of the Cayenne S have no significant change from the 2006 model.

It has the same styling and same controls. One of the integrated systems in the SUV is the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), which comes with a new active stabilizer bar system. This will help the car to maneuver through any condition. The only addition includes a power-operated tailgate system and a tire-pressure monitoring system.

The 2008 Porsche Cayenne S will be launched into the market with a starting price of $44,295, which is $1,280 more than the 2006 Cayenne.
