Formula D Racing Drifting Techniques

Watching Formula D racing has always been exciting. Formula D Racing is also known as Formula Drifting. It is a sport in its own right. A lot of racing enthusiasts love this sport and is in fact very popular in the United States.

The first professional tournament of Formula D Racing happened in 2004 in the US. Since then it grows to be such a popular hobby and sports in all parts of the world. Even if you cannot afford to purchase a sports car and drive it yourself, being a mere spectator of the sports is just as fun.

Because of the popularity of the Formula drifting, a lot of movies are produced in honor of this unique sport. Who would not adore Vin Diesel in the move ‘The Fast and The Furious’? This movie hit the silver screen like a storm and has been a phenomenal success in all parts of the globe. Because of movies like this one, Formula D Racing has a greater following than ever.

In Formula D Racing, there are three things that you need to know. First you need to know a lot about cars. Next, you need to know about driving and the techniques of racing. Lastly, you need to know a whole lot about drifting.

What is drifting? Drifting is simply defined as setting your cars past your tires adhesion. It used the slip angle between the rear and the front tires to over steer. This is also referred to as a laterally slip. The slip actually causes your car to drift. As a result, the rear of your car end would like as it is chasing the front end whenever it turns around. When in a drift, the front tires actually gain total control of the direction of the car.

There are a number of techniques used by drifting enthusiasts. These include Kansei Drift, E-brake Drift, Braking Drift and Long Slide Drift. These techniques are often performed during Formula Drifting Championship.

Kansei Drift is often used only when you have a neutrally balanced car. If you use other types of car other than this, you cannot possibly drift. Using other type of cars would also prove to be quite risky and dangerous. When you use the right car, the driver can remove his footing from the car’s throttle. This would give you the opportunity to over steer. You can then manage to drift all through out the high-speed corner.

A Braking Drift is usually done in medium or low speed corners. You would then use tail breaking whenever they begin to enter the corner. When this kind of break is used, it would often cause loss of grip of the car tires. To be able to drift, you should balance the car with the use of steering and throttle.

An E-Brake Drift is also almost similar to breaking drift, but this time only professionals can possible do this kind of drift. An E-Brake drift makes good use of the car’s emergency break. You can then achieve loss of traction, which is very vital when drifting. To drift, the driver should then maneuver his car as soon as it loses traction.

Another popular type of drifting is Long Slide Drift. Just like in E-Brake drift, this drifting technique also use the emergency brake to drift. During a long slide drift, the emergency break is activated on a straightaway. It maneuvers the car in a certain direction needed to go through several corners.

In addition to in an E-Brake Drift, the emergency brake is also used in another drifting technique.  That technique is known as a Long Slide Drift.  A Long Slide Drift involves activating a car’s emergency break on a straightaway.  It starts to angle the car in a direction that is needed to successfully make it through a number of corners.

You can only use this kind of drift if you are going on a high speed. If you are on a low speed, you cannot possibly drift. Because speed is the first nature of this type of drift, it is advised that only professionals who can handle high speed should try doing this type of drift.

Other drifting techniques also include Clutch Kick Drift, Faint Drift, Dirt Drop Drift and Shift Lock Drift.
