New Design Gives Riders More Options

(NewsUSA) - Those who are yearning for a different type of riding adventure have a new ticket to the open road.

The Can-Am Spyder roadster, manufactured by Ski-Doo and Sea-Doo creators BRP, is a new vehicle on the market that incorporates an advanced Y-architecture design; two wheels in the front and one in the rear. After gaining positive reviews in magazines like Automobile and Cycle World, the stylish, new three-wheeler is now available at dealerships across North America since rolling off the production line in September.

The vehicle combines the open-air benefits of a motorcycle with the peace-of-mind of a traditional roadster. It has also drawn the attention of many adrenaline seekers looking for a new, innovative way to experience the thrill of open-road driving. Additionally, the Spyder roadster offers a vehicle-stability system with anti-lock braking, traction control and stability control with rollover mitigation. It also has a transmission-based reverse and a front storage compartment -; features not usually seen in a three-wheeled vehicle.

"Since its official public unveiling in February of this year, the Spyder has been a hot topic among powersport enthusiasts, open-road newcomers and the media alike," said Chris Dawson, head of the Spyder program at BRP. "In fact, during the worldwide launch event in San Diego, Jay Leno made a personal request for the first Spyder off the production line -; and we're certain it will be a great addition to his famed garage."

The Spyder roadster is powered by a ROTAX 990 V-Twin engine, which produces 106 horsepower and a top speed of 110 miles per hour. While it is currently offered with a sequential manual five-speed transmission, an electronic, clutchless version will also be available in 2008. The Spyder roadster, which can also carry a passenger, has many exciting add-on options available -; including a backrest, rear rack, racing exhaust pipe and custom wheel kits. With the modernization the Can-Am roadster has brought to the world of powersports, don't be surprised to see these vehicles turning heads on a freeway or local street near you soon.

The Can-Am Spyder roadster starts at $14,999. For more information, visit www.tryspyder.com.
