Conventional motor oils are made up of base oils that have undergone only minor refining while synthetic base oils have been highly refined to retain only the most desirable chemicals needed for lubrication. 3.) What are the benefits of semi-synthetic oil over convention oil?
Like full synthetic, this oil has a low cloud point to provide better flow at cold temperatures than a conventional oil. Amsoil synthetic blend also has a high total base number (TBN) and lower volatility reducing soot, acidity, and ash. This oil burns less, lasts longer, decreases part wear, and works better in severe climates than a conventional motor oil.

5.) What is the service life of this oil?
While synthetic blend oils are more stable than conventional oils, they should not be used longer than the maximum service life specified by the manufacturer. Oil fill intervals can be extended past these specifications if the oil is periodically analyzed for contamination and degradation. Oil filters will still need to be changed at regular intervals.
