Fuel and Oil Additives Fuel Vehicle Performance

(NC)-A growing number of drivers are turning to high-performance products in an effort to improve their vehicle's performance. Some modifications can be expensive, but there are cost-effective ways to rev your vehicle's engine without breaking the bank.

One example is fuel additives. During normal vehicle operation, deposits can form in the fuel system, causing a vehicle to experience knocks and pings, hesitation, rough idling, hard starting and lost performance. Adding a specially formulated fuel additive is an effective and economical way to help keep your car running at an optimal level between regular tune ups.

Adding a fuel additive on a regular basis for preventative maintenance is well worth the investment," said Megan Currie, FRAM product manager.

FRAM now offers a line of high-performance engine and fuel system additives, formulated for today's demanding driving conditions and extended tune-up intervals.

FRAM Fuel System Treatment is a "2-in-1 formula" that helps improve acceleration by cleaning fouled fuel injectors and deposits in the system and increases octane by up to 5 points.1 This octane booster can be used in every tank of gasoline for optimum performance. The FRAM Oil Treatment & Stabilizer and FRAM Synthetic Oil Treatment & Stabilizer are designed to operate under extreme driving conditions, maintain engine cleanliness, reduce oil breakdowns between oil changes, reduce rust and corrosion, as well as condition seals to reduce leaks. When changing your oil, substitute FRAM Oil Treatment for one quart [946 mL] of oil to help protect your vehicle's engine between oil changes.

Currie reminds motorists that fuel and oil additives will not serve as a substitutes for good, regular maintenance.

"Follow the guidelines in your vehicle owner's manual for the proper maintenance schedule. Cars are not inexpensive and a little maintenance can go a long way," she advised.

FRAM High-Performance Additives are now available at Canadian Tire stores nationwide. For more information on these and other FRAM products, visit www.fram.com.
