However, there are some unique components of the G37 that keep it from pushing the BMW 3-seried right off the track.
However, the Infinite owners who enjoyed the G35 will definitely love the Infinite G37. Not only is the engine different from the current Infinite-line sedan, but the body panels are also different. Comfort and speed also differentiate when comparing the Infinite G35 and G37 back to back.
As compared to the current Infinite G35 model, the new 2008 Infinite G37 will be slightly longer and slightly wider, giving 0.9 inches in length and just 0.2 inches in width. These added measurements give just enough so that the rear comfort of the sedan is a little better than the Infinite G35, but still is coupe-like in nature.
However, when talking about the G35 and G37 in the same terms, there is absolutely no comparison. The Infinite G37 was previewed in New York in April of 2007 and the drivers and previewers got a chance to write their own reviews of why they think the 2008 Infinite G37 model will surpass the current G35 one.
If the amount of room and comfort isn't enough for you, though, maybe the engine will satisfy. Nissan's Variable Valve Event and Lift rivals with BMW's Valvetronic and does a very good job, indeed!
Nissan's VVEL technology enables complete control over valve lift and timing, which increases the G37's performance as far as the engine goes. The engine itself is a 3.5 liter, V-6, which has been stretched to 3.7 liters for the car's performance, which gives enough power to obtain the 330 horsepower that it's expected to be able to achieve.
Compared to the BMW series the Infinite G37 coupe has a lot to learn. Not only have previewers of the coupe mentioned that it doesn't feel as fast as other automobiles comparable to the BMW and the BMW itself, but the G37 has not done as good a at erasing the vibrations felt within the steering column.
It definitely has improved since the previous version, meaning the G35, but some Infinite G37 drivers might be a little disappointed. The 2008 Infinite G37 will be offered as a 6-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automatic transmission, though drivers will be looking for a debut of the 6-speed automatic as well. But no matter anyone's expectations, the 2008 Infinite G37 will promise to be a big hit for Infinite drivers everywhere!
