Hi..... i put tooo much oil in my engine. i drained alot of the oil and now it rattles like something is loose.. The reason I put oil in is because my engine oil light was always coming on..yes I was told to have it serviced and I did except after the last few times in a month when it came on I just thought it needed oil. No there were no oil leaks and yes I should have did what I was told and I realize it may cost mealot of money I have to save. Please tell me what you think?

Is the oil full?
I would get a oil pressure test done.

Hey jodi: Welcome to the forums. How much too full do you think or know on engine oil? Most can handle a qt. too much as vehicles have to deal with slopes and hills so what's in the pan isn't always in the right pick up spot and all engineered into the vehicle.
Way too low we know what happens. Way too full the crankshaft will slash in oil and troubles can happen. Talking extremes, not just one quart,

WOW... I put 3quarts in.:( one of the guys at school said I over filled it. He drained all of it then changed the oil with filter the next day andit has a rattle sound. Guess its time for a mechanic

IDK a car (USA) that only takes 3 quarts but if you meant 3 quarts too full that's too much for sure. Do as you know you need to, get a pro tech to listen to the noise and diagnose it. Computers are fantastic but diagnosing noises is still a real challenge without actually being there,
