03 Grand Am Stalls While going down Highway Sign In

My girlfriends 2003 Grand Am likes to stall while driving down the highway. They have taken it to a repair shop and hooked it up to the computer and didnt find anything wrong with it. So they tried to keep the gas above a half of a tank, and that worked for a while but now its doing the same thing. Her father unhooked the computer and hooked it back up to no avail...the car stalls out still sometimes she has to wait 10 minutes before it even starts back up and then when it finally starts it might make it another 100 yards then stalls out again. Her dad then tries to fix and drives around for hours and it doesnt stall for him. What could this be? and how could you fix it? What would you tell the repair man to look for? thank you

Intermittent problems are the nasties of them all. The only clue here is that more gas in the tank helps and that would suggest the fuel pump. Fuel pump would be cooler with more gas in the tank. Best I can guess from the info, T

When the car stalls and doesn't start, that is the time to check for fuel pressure, spark, and injector pulse. I know it's a small time window but we have to know which system(s) are failing. Then we can narrow it down.
