i have a 2001 gmc safari van 4.3 170000 miles. when i start it,idles a little rough, but as soon as i try to give it gas,it bogs down and cuts off,and takes a while before i can get it restarted.i cdan get up to about 1200 rpm and thats it ,put a new fuel pump in but that doesnt help, any other things i might b able to try ? or what might b causing this. thanks, Lloyd

What is the fuel pressure when this happens? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

That is your problem. That is too low. The spec minimum is 60 PSI. Some of these won't even start at 55PSI. Probably a bad fuel pump but check the dead head pressure to see if it's capable of spiking much higher. If you didn't use a Delco pump, you may have to change it again. You may also have pinched one of the hoses putting the tank back up.

The pressure is a tad low but since you have the same problem as before you may want to take a vacuum reading at idle & high rpm. If the vacuum drops to almost nothing when revving, you may have a restricted exhaust system. You could break the pipe loose at the manifold or pop out the O2s and see how it runs....... Did you pull the codes to see if there were any stored codes............
