Hello-My 2001 Chevy Malibu V6 will idle and rev up in neutral, but as soon as I put it in gear and step down on gas it wants to bog way down The best I can get it up to is 40 mph. I have put new plugs, wires, coil pack, etc. with no change. It is not showing any codes either. Purrs like a kitten in neutral or park? Help please-

What is the fuel pressure when the engine is bogging? If you have a scan tool with datastream capabilities what is the long term fuel trim, short term fuel trim, and MAF sensor output in g/sec? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Just curious. Was the cat substrate melted, broken, or plugged up with a foreign substance? If the substrate melted, that could be because the cat temperature is getting to high from unburnt fuel getting into the converter. Unburnt fuel is usually the result of misfiring. Cause and effect.
