doesnt seem to effect the vehicle, but i get a strange whizzing sound when the engine is running. Whines in park, neutral, and when driving...seems to stop whinning while in between gears or shifting into P/R/N/D? When it is in drive it seems to stop whining when just coasting/when the engine is just pushing at 2 or 3 miles per hour, then this whizzing sound engages around 4 or 5 miles, and gets quieter as the speed increases...its either getting quieter with accelleration or just more frequent/higher pitch to where i cant hear it. Definately attracts attention when in park...can be quite loud sometimes when in a drive through or under an awning(echoes).... The people i bought it from said it had always done that to them too. Thanks, -james also, not sure if this could be relative to the sound but, speedometer runs about 10mph faster than actual...so...10 reads 20, 30 reads 40, 60 reads 70, and records more miles on odometer than true(relative to the speed) Thanks, -james

Do you have any inclination as to where the noise is coming from? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

sounds like the transmission area. again i guess it has no apparent effect on the driveablitity but maybe just looking for some insight..or maybe it is something easily fixed

We aren't there to hear it so you would have to pinpoint it more accurately. If it's truly coming from the transmission, it could be something serious. You might try changing the trans filter and they can make a noise like that when they get restricted.
