On my dashboard my battery light is on. Today i went and got my battery recharge and its still its on. i looked at the alternator and it looks fine. When i got the car the alternator looked like the newest part of the car. The belt looks good no cracks. so i dnt know what to look at. Now im thinking it the distributor rotor because when i was replacing it the screw broke off and had to superglue it to make it stay. And the car been ruining good. BUT im not show if the distributor rotor would make the light come on. So my question if you have a bad distributor rotor will it make the light come on?

No, your glue job on the rotor may leave you stuck on the highway someday but it didn't put the battery light on. That light means the charging system is not working so you need to get the system tested. Your battery will be dead soon because it is not being recharged. Most likely a bad alternator but there are other possibilities also. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

If you have a volt meter measure the battery voltage with the car off and then start the engine and measure the voltage again.....There should be close to a 2 volt difference between the 2 readings....If they're both the same then the alternator isn't charging.. You need to deal with that rotor issue as well...If it requires replacing the dist, then that's what you need to do. That patch will leave you stranded and it's going to be at the worst possible time.....That's called "Murphy's law"

im not sure if it work but if i pull (-) cable of the battery when the car running and the car turn of then its the alternator. i tryed it and it did turn of. so i gusse its the alternator -_- and for the D-rotor when i take it to the auto shop can they take the broken screw of and replacing it. al they got to do is drill. i just dont got the tools. Also how long can i drive the car till it will die on me. i cant get it fixed till 3 days. I drive about 30min a day to get to work and back. im not using the radio/AC unless i need it/headlights.

That is the fastest way known to fry about a dozen expensive modules. You cannot do that on today's cars.

Yea, seriously you really don't want to that battery thing again, that is such a bad idea. There are other things besides not charging that will turn the light on so since you're going to have a shop fix the rotor for you (excellent idea) have them take a look at the charging system as well.... That patch is something you really can't put a time on, it's possible it would never fail but like I said....The one time you REALLY need that car, is when it would go.......I know you know what I'm talking about,,,,,Murphy has got everyone, at one time or another....
