I have a 99 Nissan Altima GXE that has been a great car! But lately I've had an issue with the manufacturers security system. When I first got the car a few months ago, no issues at all. It progressed to me having to turn the key in the drivers door twice to unlock all the doors before the security system would allow me to start it up. Then I had to turn it multiple times to get the doors to all unlock. Now, they wont unlock at all, only my driver side. I've had to resort to unlocking the trunk to get my car to start, but even now I have to jangle the key and turn it multiple times for my trunk to unlock. Is the problem more electrical, mechanical, or is it my key? There's no chip in the key, in fact it's a newly made key because my other key broke in the door. Which by the way occured after the initial problem began. HELP!

Did your car have a key boob (battery lock/unlock button on key ring)? If so, your locks have a program in the cars computer. If it is failing as you described, you may need to have the dealer re-set your lock system to get it to work properly. Hope this helps.

Unfortunatly I didn't ever have the fob. I've thought about buying one and programing it to see if it'd make a difference.
