2010 Ford Mustang Steering Wheel Problem Sign In

Hey guys,

When pulling out of a parking spot, I hit a curb with the front right of my Mustang (under 5 mph), but it seems like it may have hit a bad place on the car. Right under the bumper, a piece of plastic came loose. But more concerning, the steering wheel now seems to turn with very little resistance, and can turn a full 360 degrees.

If anyone has an idea of what might be wrong it would be much appreciated.

What exactly does that mean?

Are the front wheels turning ? Sounds like the steering shaft has snapped. There is a device on the shaft designed to shear under high forces to protect the rest of the system . If this has happened it was prob an little more than a small low speed bump . Don't drive.
