This car had been broken down for a year. Just got done replacing axle and most of front suspension and flushing fluids. Recharged battery few weeks ago. Car was running fine.

Took off of work today to get it inspected/registered but no go. Car had slow turnover and then clicks trying to get it started. Battery showed 9.6V, and the stereo seemed to be pulling ~100 milliamp when off so I disconnected. Recharged battery showing 12V. Now car doesn't even try to turn. Sounds like a relay under the hood clicks 1-2 times when turning key and repeating clicks from dash.

I don't know much about cars. Have to watch a youtube video every time I try to fix something lmao. Thanks for any help.

100ma shouldn't kill a good battery. I'd even suggest that you didn't wait long enough for all the timers to expire.

The very first thing you need to do is have that battery tested. You can't test anything else until you have a known good battery.

Agree if not that much time it should have started. There's more to just 12v it really should show and stay at 12.5v or 12.6 not connected or any drain after a charge. Then even still watch how much it drops while really cranking if it will - bet not.


You want to test it for power not just volts but they are a strong clue - Battery is probably toast just from sitting even if it worked a little for you now lacks CCA = Cold Cranking Amps even close to enough,
