Electric car window not working Sign In

Hi I jave a nissan note 2011 1.4 petrol n tech
The other day I went to open the window but I had to hold the switch down for about 40 seconds before it opened and the same when it closes I sprayed the runners went out this morning and it worked fine .got in it just now and it's gone back to taking ages to open and close I did notice when the window was a quarter of the way down and I put my hands on either side of the glass you can lift the window slightly on on end .so there is slight play that has anyone got any idea what's wrong or how to fix
Kind regards

There are numerous things that can go wrong and it's going to require some electrical testing. It can be the switch, the motor, the regulator, the channel, the wiring or the Body Control Module.

A driver's window? Probably is what I'll go on.
Not sure of all everything ever made but quote you from top ">I had to hold the switch down for about 40 seconds before it opened and the same when it closes<"

DON'T DO THAT to an electric motor it's probably trying and now wrecked from just that type treatment. When it's done travel it will isn't going out of the door up or down most are just brain dead keep trying anyway.
Could be sticky for lots of reasons or other as Hammer said lots on a maybe list.
Here's a test you could do without tools if dark enough AND an overhead interior light is NOT an LED type. Open door such that light inside lights and key enables window(s.) No engine running just in "on/run" position.

Now look at the light and press window switch for up or down when it's stuck. IF light inside dims it's drawing current if nothing try a working window it should dim light.
If that's what it's doing that motor is burned out more likely than sticky but both ways shouldn't be a sticky if so.
New window regulators are what you'll need whole thing best not just a motor,

Re: Electric car window not working Sign In

time to take the door panel off and have a look. My nephew bought a $2k Dodge Stratus from a dealer. His window did sort of the same thing yours was doing found out whomever had the car before my nephew put in a new window motor and twisted the wires together and did not put any tape around them. This was a 15 year old car , so i kind of doubt
yours is this, or the runners have worn. still i would take the door panel off. Usually the door locks, elec motors have a constant 12v then when you push the button the ECM connects the other side to ground completing the circuit, so you could check that.

I think track is bent a little out of alignment stressing out motor and glass could be on wrong side of rubber in channel? You'd have to take panel off to check.

Most anything isn't real adjustable but sometimes can bend track runners where they belong.

Don't hold motors that can't turn already said that.

Other causes to louse up the show is a habit of slamming doors especially if not fully closed or open is hard on the hardware of them,

Tractorboy, you should know better than to post links on this forum, especially to another forum.
