Re: Engine Trouble? Sign In

mileage?
last service?
can you replicate it?

did it turn off and start itself or when you tried to start it?

possible partially clogged fuel filter?

Re: Engine Trouble? Sign In

any check engine light? can you get the codes read if applicable.

can you determine any common factors between the two instances (ie rainy, gas tank level, heavy acceleration, coasting)

the service engine light always comes on if i am not accelerating and the low battery light has been on since my last oil change...roughly 2000 miles back

Re: Engine Trouble? Sign In

alright well you need to goto your local autozone or equivilant and have the DTC's Diagnostic Trouble Codes read for you.

while those DTCs are a big help and possible answer for your stalling, the ALT light that recently came on is more likely the culprit.

first thing. how old is your battery?
then

check/clean/tighten all batter terminal connections and grounds.

load test the battery
have the alternator/charging system checked if you remove the alternator most places will bench test the alternator for free
