The other day, I jumped in, drove to the corner...and the brake pedal went all the way to the floor without effect--I did get stopped on the next hillside, and limped it back into my drive. I opened the master cylinder cover, did not see any brake fluid...added about 30 ounces, replaced the cover. When I press the brakes without the engine running, it feels firm. Soon as I start it, though, the pedal goes softly to the floor...my thought is that the master cylinder itself needs replaced... What do I need to know, and where do I start? It just has air in the system now from going dry.
