When I press the gas pedal lightly, my rpms go up? Also my car vibrates or rattles when i go over 60mph. A couple of days ago I did my transmission flush, changed the spark plugs, and changed the serpenity belt. What could be the problem? 2001 Toyota Corolla 1.8L Over 131000 miles

Probably will need to explain a little better. Of course, the rpms will increase when you push on the pedal. The car will actually gain speed at the same time. The vibration/rattles, if only happening at higher speeds, could be as simple at tire/wheel balance. Now, if it vibrates without the vehicle moving, is possible that you have the plugs mis-gapped or the wires crossed. Try and be as specific as possible. Loren SW Washington

Hmmmm. Do you mean that the engine speed increases, but the car doesn't go faster? Transmission slipping? Loren SW Washington
