OK i have a 2000 Jetta v6 and i em able to drive it but when ever i seem to park it i smell anti freeze and as i open the hood the water tank water is boiling to a over flow and then i see anti freeze under my car!!! it doesnt seem to be the head gaskets and i got a new thermostat put in a few months back by the jetta dealer ship and it also has a new water tank, radiator, bushings and a few hoses done a few months back and also another hose just a few days back my father seems to think it may be water in the radiator or something like that! has any1 had this problem i cant take it to the dealer its 50miles away and the towing cost is to much for my budget so i'm stuck looking for a shop in town but most shops wont touch my car cause its a jetta [: i take such good care of my car and it just seems im always have an issue with it!

I wouldn't drive it any longer.. if the water is boiling in the overflow you probably have headgasket issues. Since you driven while overheating there is a good change you have warped heads too. You will have to get it towed to a shop that will work on it.

Hopfully that is all it is. I usally don't use aftermarket thermostats. That's the one thing you should buy from the dealership.

Took it to a different shop today cause the other shop couldnt figure out my car problem they called me and told me to pick my car up lmao! But i took it to a goood mechanic but i heard hes a lil price but gets the job done He seems to think its a blown head gasket and a fuse!! AAAHHHH about how much will that cost? any1? He'll call and let me know for sure whats wrong with it & how much it'll cost 2morrow but just wanna know how much it typically is cause i dont wanna be to freaked out when he tells me the price

Nobody is going to know the extent of the damage until the head is removed and sent out to a machine shop for testing and inspection. You're probably looking at a minimum of $1000. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

I figured it would have been more then a thermostat.. like hammer said it's hard to say how much damage has been done untill the engine is apart. Hopfully the head is not warped beyond repair
