I have a 2001 Lincoln Town Car and converted the rear suspension by taking the air suspension off and replacing with conventional springs. How do I get the air suspension warning light to go off on the dash? Appreciate any reply. Thanks.

You don't. That's the price you pay when you do that. I'm sure you could kill the light if you took the dash cluster out but that's not worth the labor. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

If you bought a kit, it should include the instructions on how to get the light to turn off. Call their tech support and they should be able to help you out. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Hammertime.........first time for me here and I appreciate your fast reply. I was kind of feeling the answer would be "You Don't" like you said. I guess I have to "pay the price" like you said again. Thank You so much! ....Mark74

Like DS said the kit may give you a way but i have seen many of them driving around with the light still on after converting.

Ok, I guess you missed my reply. I've done two conversions at the shop. One on a 96 Towncar and a full conversion on a 1998 Continental. There is a procedure for disabling the system and turning off the light. It should have been included in the instructions with your kit. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

To turn the light off and disable the air suspension, you must unhook the air suspension module. The module is located in the luggage compartment, behind the air suspension switch. Pull back the wall carpet and remove the 2 nuts that hold the suspension module. Unplug the suspension module and bolt the module back in place. LIFE'S SHORT GO FISH

That would turn off the light RT, but it would also disable the active steering system. The older Lincolns you could cut a green wire and that would kill the light. The newer ones like this one have the suspension/steering module communicating over a data bus with the instrument cluster. There has to be some faking the suspension module out to get the light to stay off. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

That can't be right. The steering/suspension module on this year is located behind the dash. Actually I like Sid's kit the best. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

I completely agree with you RT. I read it. I also think these companies lie to sell their product and really know nothing about these circuits but i'm sure DS will be back to prove me wrong..

I want to thank all you guys for the interest you show. I didn't buy a kit, my friend installed the stuff, and he was baffled. [Like me] I like Sids answer with the tape, maybe I'll just put a piece of electrical tape over the light/sign. Ha! This is a really nice Town Car, I bought it used three years ago and I just LOVE it. I couldn't go the cost of those kits and my friend suggested to convert it like he did. At this point I had better leave it alone [on]. Thanks again, Mark, Youngstown NY
