Loss of Engine Pressure Sign In

Hey, hows it going. I drive a 92 Honda Civic Ex.

I had noticed that my engine was acting up, so my friend took it to his shop, and did a pressure test. He would let it run for a while. After about an hour, it would begin to lose pressure. He guessed that the head gasket might be cracked or something. Can anybody exactly explain to me what that means, what might have caused it, or how I would go on fixing it? Also, is it safe to drive until i can find time to fix it? Thanks

Re: Loss of Engine Pressure Sign In

What do you mean by pressure? Is it losing compression, oil pressure, or fuel pressure?

There would be some loss of pressure after an hour as just the hoses would stretch some. If this was a head gasket you would be seeing way too much fog from the tailpipe or a leak external or into oil.

You asked if you should drive it?? Answer is you should use all common sense and find the trouble which probably can't be done on-line, T
