post icon Rear Wheel Bearing Sign In

I have a 1999 Chevey Blazer that nrrds the rear wheel bearing replaced on the passenger side. It is four wheel drive and has rear disk brakes. It has a 4.3 V6 motor and is a two door. I was wondering just how a job this is as I am a fair mechanic and have a lot of different tools. I guess I was wondering if you think I should try this job or no
Thank You Herb

Re: Rear Wheel Bearing Sign In

Herb; This bearing is in the axle housing. You'll need to remove the differential cover, remove the 'C' lock that holds the axle in, and remove the axle. Then, you'll need a bearing puller to remove the bearing from the axle housing. Be sure to look at the surface on the axle that the bearing rides as well as the surface that the seal rides. If any wear is shown on either, replace as needed.
