Recent Oil Change, Now Leaking HELP!

I recently took my car ('03 Chrysler Concord) to Midas to get an oil change. They changed the oil, changed my air filter, checked my tire balance and replaced some brake bulbs. They also did a free service to make sure everything is working properly and nothing out of the ordinary was found. The next day I drove my car to my parent's house and they noticed my car was leaking some fluid... I took it back to Midas to check it out and they said the transmission fluid was leaking and it was going to cost me 100$ to repair. I'm just wondering why all of the sudden, AFTER I get my car serviced, the transmission fluid is leaking. It was not leaking until the day after I took it in for my oil change.
Would this be their mistake that they should have to repair for free? Is there any way I can make them take responsibility for the leak or is it just a coincidence that this happened? Any advice/comments would help, thank you!
Other possibly helpful information:
Mileage: 50,000
After I returned to get the leak checked out, the mechanic said he thinks that the clamp holding the transmission hose is loose and that's why it is leaking.

Check your transmission fluid according to the directions stamped on the dipstick . If not there check your owners manual. There's a slight chance they may have topped it off and overfilled it. this COULD be a cause . OR they just missed it.Which I doubt , they would have tried to to sell the job the first time aound.. Talk to the MANAGER , see if he could offer a discount as good faith gesture to keep a future repeat customer.

Thats why I change my own oil although its a PITA. It also gives me a good chance to look around the underside of the vehicle from time to time to see if anythings developing and helps me schedule any up coming repairs. If them guys at the "quickie lube and goob" joints were any good they'd be working at a dealership or independent garage! More than likely someone screwed something up! I've known a couple of people who had to take them to court for oil plugs falling out and wiping out their engines!

Actually I know a few master techs that work at the golden touch place and the peppy place .They just like the fast paced work and small shop enviroment. However its also a place that hires newbies (they gotta start somewhere) therefore they are usally a few dollars cheaper .. which is probably why people use them. But to say their all bad isnt fair .BTW I've known some real dorks at dealers and the #1 Indep shop in town. CAVEAT EMPTOR

Yeah I'm sure there are some good ones in there for one reason or another but the majority I wouldn't trust with my lawnmower! They got an adjustable wrench in one hand and a cell phone in the other. For what they're paid per job they really gotta hustle. No time to tighten or recheck that drain plug!
From what I've observed they usually got one ASA certified tech,( so they can hang the shingle), and he's runnin around doin triage on every car in the shop. Then the junior wrenches slap the parts on! No matter what they repair they gotta sell a part with it. Thats the only way most customers understand and justify the repair in their heads! They dont wanna hear it was a circuit problem... they wanna blame a part! Plus the shop gets a bonus when marking up that part. JMHO

Since nobody else asked what color was the fluid on the driveway, red or brown? it could be they did the same thing they did to my daughters car and didn't have the filter on tight enough.

They told him that was what was leaking, he didn't know what it was himself. What you quoted was what he was saying as per them.

Hey, blow it out your a$$! Thats what yer doin without knowing who youre talkin to! I've been working for an international private fleet operator for the last 35 years! Taking a quick count I currently hold a few ASE certifications myself: A7,T2,T3,T4,T5,T6,T7,T8,L2,E1,E2,E3.Oh yeah, Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling as well. Hey, that makes me a Master Certified Technician...and then some! I think my observations are valid. I doubt a "decent" diag tech make 6 figures. He'd have to be "superlative" and he'd probably own the place!

Here I have no idea WTF your talking about. You must be confused with some other rant you've been on! I know better than most what it's like to accomplish your first certification. But they get easier especially with experience and application. And I'm pretty damn good...especially when my life depends on it.

A little different when someone else blindly challenges your competence or ability isn't it?
The fact you don't know the difference between ASE or ASA doesn't matter, nor the fact that you didn't list enough truck certs to actually be a truck master is errelavent. It is a little troubling that if in fact you are certified you would belittle someone for just having 1, that actually makes it worse than someone who wasn't certified at all & didn't know what they were talking about....All that doesn't matter
These forums are help to get help or give advise...good advise....If you want to do either is fine and you are more than welcome to be here. Anything counterproductive is a waste & will be short lived....
As fas as getting cussed out....that don't bother me & I may have had it coming & I'm not sweating it but as forums go...It's usually not a good idea to cuss out a mod....Pretty much all donate their time & some places have zero tolerance for that type of behavior....
