Rusted out shock mounts

I have a 87 Nissan Pulsar that needs rear shocks, problem is the upper mounts are rusted out! How do I proceed and can it be fixed?

Are you saying that you can't get it apart because it's too rusty or that it needs to be replaced?

The upper mounting area is rusted out, the whole underside of the car is pretty rusty (1987).
Basically there will be nothing to bolt a new shock/strut to. Is there anyway I can fix this as my kid needs it for work this summer?

Your still not clear. Is it the part attached to the shock that is rusty or the body of the car?

Sorry, the body of the car is rusted. I think my only solution would be to rivet some metal in as the surounding metal is rusty also and can not be welded?

Be very careful there. That is a structural part of the body and requires a lot of strength. A body shop could weld in a replacement section but it has to be done professionally.
