Wheels stuck to rotor Sign In

I cant change the tires on my 1999 Accord because I can not get the stock wheels off.
I tried hitting the rim with a plastic hammer and they wont move.
I dont want to to use any lube between the rotors and wheels afraid of messing up the pads.
I am glad this is not on the side of the road with a flat.

Re: Wheels stuck to rotor Sign In

Chances are the wheel center hole is fused (corroded/stuck) to the hub and not so much wheel to rotor itself. I'd put some PB ........

Penetrating oil right on that spot and take a break for a while. What you'll need is a pretty heavy "rubber" hammer to strike outer edge of rim carefully on opposite sides till it starts to move and it will come off.

Clean that up with a brush and apply smear of grease right where it can do that so that's the last time you get stuck with that and it's not that uncommon! No fun when you have a flat and a good spare and can't change itPirate
