my airbag light came on and found a common reason for it in fords. under your driver and passenger front seats there will be a wiring harness connector. this is for the seat belt pre-tensioners part of the SRS system. disconnect the plug and clean the terminals. sometimes dust/corrosion prevents a good connection and trips the light. __________________________________________________ 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2002 Ford Ranger 2004 Toyota Corolla 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1

I looked at the harness and notice some wires from the harness actually run up to the seatbelt buckle that comes through the seat. AT the top of this I notice 2 black wires that are not connected but dont know if they should be connected to each other or what. thanks for the reply in advance

Check to see if the passenger air bag light is functioning. If it is indeed a lamp fault code 27, the passenger light will be in operative. Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds

if the light isnt working, could be as simple as the bulb is burned out __________________________________________________ 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2002 Ford Ranger 2004 Toyota Corolla 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1

the bulb being burned out on the passenger air bag indicator would cause the air bag light to stay on, on the dashboard?

Like dmac said the light out will cause the air bag light to stay on. The fix here is to replace the passenger air bag on/off switch. The bulb is part of the switch. Jeff

There is a plastic cover on the dash panel that needs to be removed. I believe it just snaps off. But be easy there is always a chance that there are some hidden screws. I do think this item can be bought aftermarket but if you don't mind a few extra dollars OE is always best. Jeff
