i have a 1999 chevy malibu, with a 3.1, and the gas guage is stuck at 3/4 full, and when i turn the key of it goes down like normal, but every time its running its always on 3/4 tank (even when im out of gas, or i put gas in it), and i looked up a fuel sending unit for that car and i couldnt find one, what can i do to fix the gas guage?? thanks, nick

Sounds like a bad fuel sender but first try unplugging it at the tank with the key on and see if the gauge comes back down then. If so, change the sender. The dealer or a store that sell Delco will be the only place to get one. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

You'll see a harness going over the top of the tank with a plug near the edge of the tank. If I remember correctly, that one is in the right rear corner but I may be wrong. Just look for the harness.

Yes it will. Make sure you run it really low on fuel before attempting to drop that tank.

No, that's not an aftermarket type part. It's only made in Delco, I believe.

That's both in one but you don't need the pump. The sender is sold separately at the dealer.
