nissan maxima leaking coolant Sign In

i have a 1996 nissan maxima i notice when i crank the car up it starts to leak toward the back of the motor toward the driver side tire but after you put it in gear and start to drive it it quits. thanks.

What kind of fluid is it leaking? Have you checked all your fluid levels?

Then, pressure test the cooling system so you can determine exactly where it is leaking from.

There are a bunch of heater hoses and bypass hoses under the intake. There are also heater hoses that run to the firewall behind the engine. It could be leaking from any of those places. You need to localize the area to the source. Typing the leak is in the back of the engine is too general of an area for anyone to figure out exactly where your leak is.

all of the hoses have been replaced
