06 chevy equinox LT AWD 3.4 V6 is overheating. Not sure were this all started but the car has been overheating and guzzeling the water . The fans work well . WE have changed the thermestat , sensor, and water pump but yet it still overheats . before it starts to overheat i have noticed that the heater begins to become cold and the overheating begins . After opening the bleeder the hot air comes back and the car cools down . WE have noticed that alot of air is coming out of the bleeder and not alot of water . Im guessing that air keeps getting in the motor some how and the water is going through the engine to cool it down . please help i am cluless

You're losing coolant somewhere. this engine is known for bboth intake manifold leaks and blown head gaskets and one can cause the other. You need to pressure test the cooling system to find the leak.

if it was a blown head gasket wouldnt there be other signs besides overheating ?

i was told that if it was the head gasket that the water and the oil would mix . I have checked and they have not mixed .

You were told wrong. That does not occur in 90% of head gasket failures.

another sign of a blown head gasket is if the exhaust pipes have more water coming out than usual. If your coolant isnt mixing with the oil then most of the time it's leaking out the pipes

there was nothing wrong with the headgaskets .. i wrote a new forum its overheating still please read up on that it is my update
