Your owners manual should tell you how to enter the code to unlock it.

Re: radio code problem bmw Sign In

You should have a z3BMW radio code, in your car manual or cars paperwork. Mine is a 5 digit number. With my car I just enter this number into the radio via the programmed buttons. 1-6. When I entered the last number the radio turned on. I'm researching to see if an new BMW Radio needs to have a button pressed after entering the numbers.

Also if you can't find your radio code, drive to a local bmw dealership and they should supply you this number for free when they see that the radio does belong in your car.

Some of them only allow you a couple of attempts and then they permanently lock you out. The dealer may be the only one that can unlock it now.

You will probably have to go to the dealer with the car and proof of owner ship and vin# to get the code.

No, you're likely going to have to go there with the car to have them unlock it.
