Is it OK/safe to use 1996 Cadillac Seville 4526 16x7 wheels on my 1995 Cadillac ElDorado?

I suggest you have them carefully inspected that they do in fact interchange safely. The 16x7 suggests a 16 inch rim that's 7 inches wide but doesn't tell how deep the dishing* is or exact lug nut hole spacing nor center hole if that also clears hubs and fits properly.

*Dishing depth is how far the wheel hovers over the hub and brake parts for proper clearance and stance when installed.

Thanks for the quick response! I believe the specs are the same for wheel types 4526 and 4521. That is, 16x7, 5x115 bolt pattern, 12x1.5 stud size, 70.3 Hub center bore, "H" Offset (+35mm to +55mm). I think what you call "dishing" is the same as "offset". I'm asking because I've seen a few references say that 4526 type are OK for 2000-02 Eldorados, yet other sites say 4526 type are OK for "1992 and up" Eldorados, Sevilles and STS models.

Sounds like YOU know what to watch out for as well as I do.

True story: Lady with 92 CDV purchased used at a couple years old desperately wanted wire spoke original hubcaps instead of whatever was on the car. A new Caddy dealer obliged and a couple years later came time for front brakes which I did on that car and when wheels (plain steel for the hubcaps) were re-installed the car wouldn't move an inch! I was as shocked as she was!

The new disc pads vs the evenly worn ones moved the caliper further out and jammed against the wheel HARD! So much so that I had to put one used pad back on each front caliper so she could even leave till we could find proper steel wheels that had the extra 1/2" dishing. You wouldn't see it at a glance and wouldn't have showed up if not for the new brakes.

That really happened an no real fault about it except a careful measurement when she got it would have showed up. Car was used or it wouldn't have worked when she got it. Funny but not and was a real surprise. Came to find out that GM didn't make many steel wheels that exact dish depth and they were a challenge to find used to straighten that out!
