Convertor lock up (3rd gear) won't disengage Sign In

Thanks in advance for any help. 2002 Jeep Wrangler (TJ) 32rh automatic (3 speed) 160,000 miles.
32 RH, Tranny worked fine but wouldn't lock the convertor up at all. I'm no Tranny guy but replacing the convertor lock-up solenoid (per the diagonostic) seemed easy enough. I had to drop the valve body to do it. Got it back together and works fine except now when it shifts into 3rd gear, the convertor is immediately locked up. It won't automatically down shift when slowing down and the convertor stays locked up in 3rd gear. If I put my foot on the brake , I can manually downshift to second gear and all is well again. I disconnected the solenoid wire but nothing changed. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks. BTW the oil and filter has been changed twice and there were no particles what-so-ever in the pan or on the filter.

We have a tranny expert (gsferarro). He will be along when he has time. He's busy with his own shop.

My assumption is something got messed up in the repair.

Thanks "Hammer time". I'm sure it's something I did. I hope your expert finds time for this. I ordered a new TCC, even though there's no code, and the problem exists when the connector is disengaged. I hope it's merely an adjustment. I bought an ATSG manual for the A727 / A904. Everything so far checks out. FYI, the Accumulator Valve in my tranny has an extra spring (@1/2" by 3' long) the is supposed to be an upgrade.

I'm guessing something didn't line up/connect properly when the valve body was put into place.

Hello,
If this will not downshift to 1st gear chances are your Govenor valve is stuck, govenor is located in the extension housing section. Gary
