state inspection and transmission problem? Sign In

Hello,
I am ignorant about the car and need help from experts. A few days ago I did the state inspection in Pennsylvania and when I picked up the car from the garage, I had a transmission problem immediately and was told that I have to pay $2.000 for rebuild it. Is there any cause and effect relationship between state inspection and transmission problem? Of course the garage person says he did not touch the transmission and he does not have any responsibility for it, but since it happened immediately after the inspection (even before going back to home!), I just feel suspicious if it is because of his fault. Any suggestion/comment will be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

I have to agree with Steve, just because something fails on a vehicle doesn't automatically mean the tech is at fault or worse, purposely caused the problem.

With that being said, I believe Kia offers a 10 year/100 k mile warranty on their powertrain. Call a Kia dealer, the trans should be under warranty............
