The Tokyo Auto show will be exciting as ever this year with all the new green cars and green technology. There are many new and highly anticipated concept cars that will be featured at the show. This exciting show features cars that will be on the road soon and even some concept cars that give us a glimpse into the future of modern vehicles that will one day be on roads and highways throughout the world. These are a few of the vehicle that will be featured at this year’s Tokyo Auto Show.
• Nissan Leaf
The 2012 Nissan Leaf is a fully electric (ZEV) Zero Emissions Vehicle. It actually will not have a tailpipe anywhere on it. Every 100 miles it will need to be recharged at designated charging stations. It will have 5 seats and 5 doors to accommodate the driver and passengers.
• Prius PHV
The 2012 Prius PHV is an electric hybrid car that can run on electricity and gasoline, as well. It can switch over from exclusive electricity power to exclusive gasoline powered driving when the electric charge runs out.
• Suzuki EV Every Electric Van
The 2012 Suzuki EV Every Electric Van is the first mass marketed exclusively electric vehicle being produced by Suzuki. It is a flagship of sorts for this auto maker. It is fitted with a lithium-ion battery that can take a full charge within 5 hours and can then fun for 62 miles before needing to be recharged. It weighs over 400lbs more than its gas fueled competitors, but that is the price it pays for being all electric.
• Mitsubishi i-MiEV
The 2012 Mitsubishi i-MiEV is an exclusive electric car that will be affordable and safe. It has a unique rise body design that will protect passengers during a collision. Another unique feature is that it contains 6 vehicle safety airbags. This vehicle will also come in 6 colors and will not have a tail pipe of any sort.
• Yamaha EC-03
The 2012 Yamaha EC-03 is a little different than the other vehicles on this list because it is actually not a car at all, but rather an all electric scooter. It is made of an aluminum alloy, lightweight material that helps it to go further on less charging. It is 30 percent lighter than most gas powered scooters. It can be plugged in to any standard outlet and be fully charged in only 6 hours.
• Mercedes Benz Smart ForTwo Electric
The 2012 Merceded Benz Smart ForTwo Electric car took what was already a great and fuel efficient vehicle and made it that much better by transforming it into an efficient and amazing exclusively electric 2 seat vehicle. It runs on a Lithium-ion battery that can be charged from a 220V plug in anywhere. It gets an 80 percent charge in under 3 and a half hours., and can get a complete and full charge in less than 8 hours.
• Honda EV-Neo
The 2012 Honda EV- Neo is a fully electric scooter that will feature a rapid charge mode. It can be plugged into any standard outlet and can get a full charge in less than 30 minutes. It is designed to be durable and used especially in the commercial industry.
