One recent change that the Spyker cars have made was to acquire one of the most famous racing teams of all times from the Midland Group. The Spyker team made this new development in 2006 and has been sporting the black and orange, which are the official colors of the Dutch. They also acquired a partnership deal in early 2007.
This sent them to their new official name of Etihad Aldar Spyker Formula One Team. This partnership has sky-rocketed them in their advertising and marketing of the Spyker team and has made people realize what Spyker has long stood for: ultimate craftsmanship and performance for their racing team. This deal, however, has added a couple new names to the mix, with Michiel Mol and Colin Kolles joining the group.
If you're not familiar with the Spyker Company, here are some basic details about the group. The tradition of Spyker goes back all the way to the late nineteenth century when two brothers decided to put their heads together to build a complete motorcar. They used a Benz engine and it became instantly popular.
Ever since then Spyker has been known for their hand craftsmanship and performance when it comes to hand-built super cars. Most everyone who knows anything about racing or super cars also knows the Spyker name. They don't hold back on performance or speed, either. Only in 2000, Spyker introduced the C8 Spyder, which is now one of their best cars known in the super car genre.
Spyker has also won several awards over the years, including the Institute of Vehicle Engineers Design Award in 2000 for the C8 Spyder.
Now for the 2007 racing season, the two drivers Christjan Albers and Adrian Sutil are prepared to take on and win the Championship for Formula One Grand Prix competition. With their new cars in mind and their great team, Spyker Formula One should be able to overtake the season and definitely come out ahead!
