2003 Blazer has squealing noise Sign In
I drive a 2003 Chev Blazer, and for about a week now, I have noticed a high-pitched squealing noise coming from, what appears to be the wheel(s). When i apply the brakes, it sounds like the squealing noise gets squeezed, but then it comes back when I release the brake. Does anyone have a suggestion for me to try to see if I can troubleshoot this myself? My car knowledge is pretty limited, but I'm handy with tools.

Sounds like the warning sensors on the brake pads. It may be time for a brake job.

A brake job as in replacing the brake pads, or something more significant? Just to clarify, the squealing mainly happens when the brakes are not in use.

I don't know. I can't examine your car from here. You need to have a complete brake inspection done.
