After the new fuel pump was installed the first time the fuel pressure was checked with a gauge and it was good. (Sorry. I dont remember what it said exactly now) I dont own the fuel pressure gauge and my dad forgot his last time he came to help me with my car-he lives 4hrs away)

I'm a bit lost now just reading the first post that this was misfiring on ONE cylinder once and can guess now it doesn't run at all. 1995 just may have had the OBDII diagnostics that required an adaptor or you would get nothing but none ever happened upon me - just luck of it. Will this fire up if primed with starter fluid (put air snorkel back on after trying that and before cranking) for even a short run time? It would be nice to know that at least ignition wasn't involved and I'll just watch what the others say unless some bolt of lighting idea comes to mind or what's left of it Tom

Tom, yes you have to have the adapter. Before it died we tried to scan it and I took it to a couple places to get it scanned and it wouldnt work-dealer charges way to much$ to scan it. So I started this post to see if I could find some help/direction. (Ive used this before and its been a lot of help in the past-you actually helped me before) Hammer time, your not helping me by being rude!! Ive asked you for more things to "diagnose" after I get a reading and youve told me nothing. Im trying my best to get as much info as I can so I dont have to keep posting 100's of questions on here taking up everyones time. I know you volunteer your time and help and Im very greatfull, but In this whole post youve never said you actually NEEDED the actual readings. You just wanted me to check the coil pack which we did and now I cant drive it at all... Im sure there isnt a whole lot of things that could make the car have no fuel pressure...so I was hoping that you/or whoever could help would just give me a list of things to diagnose to get it fixed. (most of the parts We've been "throwing" in the car, my dad had already)

I'm sorry but you were asked to take a fuel pressure reading a week ago and now 2 pages later and we still don't know if the fuel pressure is correct or not and you're just running in circles. We have a systematic way to isolate the cause of a problem and can find it real quick when someone will follow instructions. The dartboard method that you are using gets nowhere and everyone is just wasting time and money. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

laura796 - A problem with changing out parts if free is you really can't be sure the new one is good and if you've done more than one item at a time even knowing if a fuel or a spark problem it can confuse everything. Just unplugging and plugging in the wiring connections can cause the troubles with some age on it and unknown to me corrosion or moisture exposure to extremes. It's just the luck of the draw that this 1995 is not going to be easy or cheap to get code readings as that was the only year TMK and codes may not totally target or even point to where to look or perhaps an errant code got stored from messing with it?? About now I'm beginning to think this vehicle has wiring connection problems and more than one thing is causing problems. What are your choices local to you for diagnostic help if needed and I think it is. Parts tossing has it's drawbacks is basically what I have to say and tools you may not have for diagnosing more and more can run you more than you'll ever save. You know your budget and situation for help better than we ever could but think this is about ready to be sent out, T

Hammer time Im sorry...I called my dad to double check if he did test it (I thought he forgot it at his house) but he did test it and he had no pressure. He just tried the valve test later hoping he could get some pressure. Tom, ya budget is tight or id just go get another used car...and save you guys the trouble of trying to help me. The parts we had were new, (except the coil pack) I believe and it was fairly cheap to buy. But I agree with you I think its in the wiring. (Just because the pump wont turn on) And it just happens that more then one thing failed at the same time. We will have to try and. Follow the wires as best as we can and see if we can fix the problem (if we find one)

Here is the wiring diagram for the fuel pump circuit. You can start out by checking the fuses and power on the pink wire to the relay and the gray wire to the pump. You still need the fuel pressure gauge through this process to know when you have a response from the pump and when you don't and whether it is sufficient pressure. The pump only powers for 2 seconds when the key is first turned on and then resumes when the computer sees a cranking signal. You can also try unplugging the oil pressure sender because a short in it will cut off power supply.

Ok, so I know you want to know what happened...so heres the end solution.: After finding the bad coil pack we changed that and fixed the hucking at 45-55mph and after following your wire drawings and a more advanced one, we came to the conclusion it was a wiring issue that wouldnt let the car start. My dad hooked up his code reader just. To see about codes after the coil pack was fixed. He hooked it up and turned the key on and on came the fuel pump and had great pressure (he did have a tester hooked up) also we had more dash lights come on too that never came on before (oil, batter-cause it was almost dead from us leaving the lights on by accident-check engine light and the oil light.....so we tried to see if it was a bad ground wire that was causing the car to not get power. Because with the reader pluged in it was grounding the wires and everything worked perfect, it started and ran like normal. But as soon as the code reader was unpluged it wouldnt run. So we hooked the jumper cables to the battery and the ECU and bingo...it ran. So we ran a new ground wire from the battery to the ecu box and now everything is great! Runs like new :) so thx again for help!

You might want to check the ground wires down at the transmission mounting bolts. Near the vacuum modulator. Might have some loose, broken, or corroded. If that is the case, you should fix those ground points. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
