For some reason my car runs great for awhile. When I try to start it, it'll turn on then automatically kill itself. I've changed the air filter, put on a brand new fuel pressure regulator, brought it in to a shop several times but they can't even figure out what's wrong. HELP!!!

Is there a security light on or flashing when you try to start it? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Everything turns on but then it just kills itself.

What do you meran by "kills itself"? Is the engine starting and stalling or are you just losing all battery power? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

It sounds like you have a Passlock failure. I'm giving you the relearn procedure. this may or may not work. If it doesn't work it means you have a hard failure somewhhere in the circuit andf you will need a Tech2 scan tool to diagnose it. PASSLOCK 10 MINUTE RELEARN AUTO LEARN Time required, approximately 10 minutes: 1. Insure that the battery is fully charged. 2. Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTCs. 3. Turn the ignition switch from the OFF position to the CRANK position attempting to start the vehicle. The vehicle will start and then stall. 4. Leave the ignition switch in the ON position while observing the security indicator. 5. When the security indicator turns off, which can take up to 10 minutes, turn the ignition switch off. Wait 10 seconds. 6. The BCM and the PCM will learn the new code on the next start attempt.
