The AC isn't blowing in my 2004 Pontiac Grand Am. The lighter also doesn't work and neither does the display on my factory stereo though it plays just fine I just can't see the clock or tell what station I'm on. I can't charge my cell phone because the lighter doesn't work. I had someone replace my fuel pump last year after my car wouldn't start - the battery was new. After the fuel pump was replaced the car still would not start so he ran a wire straight to the fuse box. He said it could be an electrical problem or it could be from my automatic starter but the starter works fine. I have 168,100 miles on my car. Any ideas what exactly would be causing some things not to work but everything else is fine.

Try to make certain grounds are intact. Many hidden. Check fuses with a test light not just looking at them both inside and any underhood ones too. Could be a body control module issue but rule out the easy possibilities first. You can if you know add ground jumper wire but know that items should be "ground" to known ground or you could hurt something more, T

Let me guess, your wire isn't even fuse protected, just using the fuse box for a supply. Never let that man touch your car again. I could say the rest of what I was thinking but DS got it already. Thats the kind of death trap work ameteurs do.
