Leaking after transmission pan replacement.

Hello again folks, im having another problem. I recently hit a curb and snapped one of the transmission pan bolts causing it to leak. So I got all the parts and had a mechanic put a new transmission pan, filter, and gasket in. He couldnt screw in all the bolts of the pan due to the one damaged bolt being left inside one of the holes because it snapped in half. So now its leaking from the spot, dripping slowly. I was wondering if there is some kind a temporary fix for this, like a sealer or something. i really need my car for work. I appreciate all the info and help. Thanks a ton. Your mechanic should have the answer unless it is back yard billy bob doing your repair.
He/she needs to extract the broken bolt. Hopefully the case isn't cracked. No amount of goo or sealant is going to help that.

It was a mobile mechanic. I should of bought a silicon sealer. he says I have to drill the other half of the bolt out that was stuck in there. What can I do besides spend another hundred dollars that I dont have?

Someone needs to remove the rest of that bolt. If they are going to hand drill it, the drill needs to be dead center. The bolt is steel and the case is aluminium. If the drill walks off, your screwed. The broken off piece might spin out easy will a left hand drill bit or even a small pick because the head is gone and there is no pressure on the threads.
Not really much else can be done because there needs to be a bolt there. I wouldn't risk slobbing it up with silicone or rigging it.
We had a customer last week that ran over a turtle and popped a hole in his pan. He drove it not knowing the fluid was leaking out. He drove till the car stopped moving. It was too late though because he burned up the transmission.
edit: Looking at your picture again the surface on the case looks damaged too. Does this vehicle have full coverage insurance?

I can try getting it out since it is in reach. Any way to get it out without drill if its loose a little? I got all kind of equipment.

Pick maybe. If it is broken off above the surface, you might be able to use a dremel cut off wheel, notch the end, and use a small screw driver to unscrew it. If that surface of the transmission case is messed up, it might not seal even with a bolt there.

Do i have to buy a new filter and gasket?? I just had brand new gasket and filter put in about 3 hours ago. I just want to remove the pan and see if I can get the screw out.

The gasket should be reusable. You don't have to remove the filter. Good luck and let us know how it works out.
